Do occasional aches and pains drag you down? Here’s a natural soother to try…

According to a recent study, a warm ginger compress used for 30 minutes a day reduced overall pain and fatigue in individuals with osteoarthritis. In the study, arthritis patients placed the compress on their lower backs and felt relief from pain throughout their body after just one week.

To make your own compress: Create a hot ginger infusion by combining two teaspoons of ground ginger with one-half cup of very hot water. Immerse a cotton cloth completely in the solution, then squeeze well.

Topical ginger seems to warm and relax the musculoskeletal system, increasing mobility. It also may help relieve specific pulled muscles and achy joints. Apply this ginger compress to any areas of pain and feel the relief!

This tip was based on a study by researchers at Edith Cowan University, Perth, Western Australia, published in Journal of Holistic Nursing.
