Vinegar Ice Cubes?—Here’s Why

0

Do you have a stinky garbage disposal that hasn’t been cutting it lately? Here’s what to do…

Don’t throw out lemon peels—use them to deodorize your disposal. Toss the peel from two small lemons or one large one, plus eight to 10 ice cubes into your garbage disposal. Turn on cold water, and run the disposal. The lemon will deodorize while the ice cubes help remove any stuck-on food, “sharpening” the blades.

Super-sanitizing trick: Freeze vinegar in ice cube trays, and run those through the disposal. This will keep your blades free from debris while safely killing odor-causing bacteria. No lemons required!
