You have more flowerpots than you know what to do with—so here’s a great idea for using one that you really like. Just clean it up and use it as a decorative kitchen caddy placed strategically on your counter for spatulas, wooden spoons and other utensils that don’t fit in silverware holders and that you want readily at hand.

Or just go out and buy an inexpensive, plain terra-cotta pot and decorate it yourself with lively spring colors. Acrylic or patio paints work well on terra-cotta and create easy-to-clean surfaces—although you should probably keep your artwork far enough away from your stovetop to avoid grease splatters. You can also try waterproof wallpaper or sticky contact paper used to line drawers.
