Headaches are such a pain. If you happen to have one, don’t reach for that pill bottle just yet! You can probably relieve it pretty easily without drugs.

Ginger: Nature’s Anti-Inflammatory

As soon as you feel a headache coming on, peel and eat a small piece of fresh ginger. If you’ve never chewed on raw ginger before, beware that it’s quite strong! So nibble a little at a time…until your headache dissipates.

Healing Movement

Swing your arms forward and back 100 times. This redirects blood flow away from your head and releases endorphins to make you feel better. Be sure you are not near any furniture when you do this, or you’ll have more than an aching head.

Bonus: This exercise is a great stress reducer…whether you have a headache or not!

Tea to Melt Head Pain

Fatigue, anxiety and stress can trigger headaches. For soothing, natural relief, make a cup of green tea and add sprigs of fresh mint. Let the mint and green tea steep for three to five minutes. If you don’t have fresh mint available, use a peppermint or spearmint tea bag: Steep together a bag each of green tea and mint tea with a cup of just-boiled water for three minutes. Relax, sip slowly and your headache should be gone in about 15 minutes.
