Boil two quarts of water, then steep five bags of black tea in it until the tea is cool enough to transfer to a basin. Soak your feet in the liquid for 10 minutes, then rinse and dry them thoroughly.
Tannic acid, the natural astringent found in black tea, neutralizes and absorbs sweat, destroying the moist breeding ground for odor-causing bacteria. So the tea bath should get rid of the stink when just a plain foot washing won’t do.
To prevent foot odor, before putting on your socks, apply a thin coat of baking soda (putting it in a sugar canister that shakes out sugar works well) to your feet to keep the surface of the skin drier. This will also help keep them smelling fresh.
