Are you ready to quit smoking? Congratulations on taking control of your life! Once you quit, here’s a special tonic to help you through the tough weeks of withdrawal…

Mix one-half teaspoon of cream of tartar (available in supermarket baking and/or spice sections) into eight ounces of orange juice, and drink it before bedtime. The cream of tartar helps clear the nicotine out of your system, so, as the mornings progress, you will have less desire to smoke, until the cravings are gone completely. The orange juice will help replace the vitamin C depleted by your old smoking habit.

This isn’t a magic bullet (of course). You still have to switch up the routine that involved easy smokes and add in more exercise and other healthful distractions…clear out your home of lighters and ashtrays…and just be determined not to light up! But persistence pays—your body will love you for it.
