“I have been involved in beekeeping since I was in college, about 45 years,” comments Bottom Line reader Harold Meinster about Can Local Honey Fight Allergies “The pollens that we get from the honey are not necessarily the pollens affecting our sinuses and floating in the air. The amount of pollen in pure (not filtered) honey would not be enough to desensitize us from the pollens.” However, he adds that, “Honey has a natural antibacterial property and [is]very soothing for the throat.”
