Brass doorknobs (knockers or knickknacks) can tarnish over time. Here’s what to do…

Put a few drops of Worcestershire sauce on a dry cloth, and rub the tarnished solid brass or copper object. The ethanoic acid in the sauce helps cut through the grime and tarnish (make sure your item is solid brass, not plated, since acid can damage a plated finish…a magnet will not stick to solid brass but will to brass-plated objects). Once the brass or copper item is clean, rinse with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
