How yucky is it to clean a grater, especially after grating cheese? Instead, grate a piece of raw potato after shredding that chunk of cheese. The hard, wet surface of the potato, plus a tiny trace of oxalic acid, cleans away the cheese goo that usually clings to your sponge. (And now you have a good excuse to fry up some hash browns!)
