The plastic tip of a shoelace is called an aglet, and these little pieces are prone to breaking and wearing out.
To structure a new aglet, simply dip the aglet-less end of the shoelace in colorless nail polish. As it’s drying, use tweezers to shape the end into a point. Let it dry completely before retying your shoes.
