Do This With Your Pasta Water (It’s Not What You Think)

You probably don’t think twice about dumping this down the drain. But your plants want you to stop! This is what we mean…

Water from boiled pasta and potatoes has a high starch content and hard-boiled-egg water has some added calcium from the eggshells—both of which make excellent plant fertilizer. Let the water cool to room temperature, then douse your plants with your enriched elixir (that you were about to throw out).

You can also use the water you used to steam or cook vegetables…unless you want to drink this nutrient-rich liquid yourself!
