Keep pieces of chalk or a few charcoal briquettes in your toolbox. This chalk or charcoal will absorb the excess moisture that causes rust.
If you don’t have a toolbox, clean your tools with steel wool and apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to prevent rust.
