You might think that a quick splash of water on your houseplants is better than nothing, but it can do more harm than good! Here’s how you should water your plants…

Watering often but only a little at a time can weaken the roots. Instead, water plants thoroughly once every week—or whenever the soil feels dry to the touch. (Insert your finger about an inch or so into surface…if it’s dry, it’s time to water.)

Water your plants in the morning, when they begin to wake up. That’s when they’ll best absorb water.

Plants prefer lukewarm or room-temperature water because it’s easier for them to absorb. Ice water or boiling hot is a no-no!
