Is it a hassle in your household to get everyone to the table on Thanksgiving? If you have a bunch of football fans in your house, here’s what to do…

There used to be only one or two football games on Thanksgiving, but now there are three. Obviously you want to favor the game time that accommodates the most fans in your household. Based on this year’s football schedule, the best time to serve this year’s meal (to fit two out of the three games) is 4 pm. Here’s why…

The Philadelphia Eagles/Detroit Lions game is on at 12:30 pm ET. Since games can easily run over three hours, 4 pm should give your football fans time to watch the game, have a few appetizers and accumulate plenty of sports talk for the table.

The Chicago Bears/Green Bay Packers game is on at 8:30 pm ET, so a 4 pm seating should give you ample time to eat up before kickoff…and get everyone into maximum napping positions.

The Carolina Panthers/Dallas Cowboys game at 4:30 pm is problematic. If your Panthers and/or Cowboys fans don’t mind eating late, 7:30 is our pick. You can give thanks for no overtime!

Just remember that with all the flags and commercial breaks, today’s football games run an average of three hours and 15 minutes.

How do you work your Thanksgiving meal around football? We’d love to know!
