Single people often are hesitant to travel on their own, but there are more and more options for solo travelers. In this video, Adriane Berg, founder of Generation Bold and author of Bottom Line’s Aging for Beginners blog, walks viewers through some of the opportunities available to people who want to travel by themselves, including no-penalty choices for those traveling solo or ways to meet prospective travel partners online. Solo travelers can pursue personal adventures with or without an individual guide. There also are many companies, including hotels, that will match people with travel partners. Travelers can make use of the sharing economy services such as Airbnb—they are a great way for several solo travelers to meet and set up a communal camp as a group. Finally, Ms. Berg specifically recommends cruises (both ocean and river) as a travel experience that accommodates single travelers well.
