I have long recommended Original Bach Flower Remedies to patients for quick relief from stress and anxiety. One of my favorites is Bach Rescue Remedy, a homeopathic flower-derived formula made of rock rose, impatiens, clematis, star of Bethlehem and cherry plum. This remedy can help if you are in a particularly stressful situation…or even if you feel a panic attack coming on.

The original Rescue Remedy comes in a dropper bottle—and the dose is four drops on the tongue or in a glass of water. But now this same formula is available in several varieties, which can make taking it even easier. Doses can be repeated as often as needed.

Rescue Remedy Spray. The spray form of Rescue Remedy is faster-acting than the drop form. Dose: Two sprays directly on the tongue. (The 20-milliliter spray contains 175 doses, $19.95.)

Rescue Pastilles. You now can dissolve Rescue Remedy in pastille form, similar to candy that dissolves in your mouth. Pastilles come in a tin and are very easy to pop into your mouth. Flavors include orange/elderflower and black currant. Dose: One pastille. (A tin contains 26 to 30 pastilles, $7.75.)

Rescue Gum. Many of us might find that chewing gum provides stress relief on its own, but Rescue Remedy gum contains the same stress-relieving ingredients as the original drop formula. Dose: One piece of gum. (Package includes 17 pieces of gum, $7.75.)

All are sold at health-food stores and online.
