Here is a recipe so delicious you won’t believe how little time it takes to make. And guess what? It’s healthy, too!

For this dessert, you need one small ripe pear, two tablespoons of slivered almonds or chopped walnuts, one tablespoon of dried cranberries, one teaspoon of brown sugar and one-half teaspoon of almond extract.

Cut the pear in half lengthwise. Remove the core, and scoop out a two-inch hole in the center of each half.

Chop the scooped-out flesh…add the remaining ingredients to it…and toss.

Spoon the mixture into the pears.

Bake 15 minutes at 400°F or until the pears are soft. Serves two.
