Great Deals at Beach Resorts

Whether you want a winter getaway or a great deal on a beach vacation later next year, this could be the time to book. Many resorts, desperate for dollars amid the pandemic, have been offering very attractive deals with flexible refund policies for travel on various dates in 2021.  And bargain airfares were available as of press time. Dominican Republic: Casa de Campo, a five-star resort with a private beachfront and acclaimed golf courses on the southeastern coast, is offering rooms for as much as 70% off its usual prices for stays as late as fall 2021. Examples: Three-night stays for $399 in May to September 2021…or $599 in January to April.

Florida Keys: Hawks Cay Resort on Duck Key is a four-star resort that offers the feel of a quaint waterfront ­village…the climate and beaches of a Caribbean island…and the convenience of being in the US—you can drive there from Miami in two hours. Prices are around 40% below normal. Example: Two nights for $538 in January to March, with the option of adding extra nights for $169 per night. 

Jamaica: Sandy ­Haven Resortis a four-star boutique hotel on Negril’s stunning Seven Mile Beach. Rooms can be found for less than half their normal price with bookings available through late 2021. Example: Recently $399 for three nights in a ­garden-view room…or $599 for a “Superior Ocean View” room. Prices valid for travel in January or April to early December.

Mexico: Garza Blanca Resort and Spa is a five-star resort in Los Cabos near the southern tip of the Baja peninsula. It offers sandy beaches, sweeping ocean views and a rooftop infinity pool. It is among about a dozen new resorts opened in the area in the past two years, creating a room glut even before the pandemic. Prices are 50% below normal. Example: A three-night stay in a “Junior Suite Ocean View” room for $799 in April to December 2021…or $999 in January to March.
