Maybe you avoid buying bananas in the summer because they tend to ripen too fast in the warm weather. Hesitate no more! Here’s what you can do to keep your bananas longer.

Forget the myth about not putting bananas in the refrigerator. If you put a ripe banana (with the peel) in a sealed plastic bag, getting out as much air as possible, and then put it in the fridge, you’ll slow down the ripening process.

Note: If you use this method, the peel will turn yucky brown, but the banana itself will be banana-color and delicious.

Here’s a super-easy recipe to use up those ripe bananas.
