Martin J. Blaser, MD, the Muriel G. and George W. Singer Professor of Translational Medicine and director of the Human Microbiome Program in the departments of medicine and microbiology at New York University School of Medicine, New York City. He has served as chair of medicine at NYU and president of the Infectious Diseases Society of America. He is author of Missing Microbes: How the Overuse of Antibiotics Is Fueling Our Modern Plagues (Henry Holt).
