Nicholas Dodman, DVM, a veterinary behaviorist, is professor emeritus at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, North Grafton, Massachusetts, where he founded the Animal Behavior Clinic. He is the author of six books, including his latest, Pets on the Couch: Neurotic Dogs, Compulsive Cats, Anxious Birds, and the New Science of Animal Psychiatry, which recounts several stories of treating animals for all-too-human problems.
