Finding qualified and competent support services for seniors can be challenging. In this video, Adriane Berg, founder of Generation Bold and author of Bottom Line’s Aging for Beginners blog, offers some solutions to this problem. Many people are unaware that there are 633 “Area Agencies on Aging” divided by geographical region in the US. You can find them on the Internet and contact them by phone. These agencies help seniors navigate health care and entitlements. Another resource is the National Council on Aging, which details all the benefits available to seniors. This can be accessed at www.benefitscheckup.com. Finally, local senior centers often are underutilized, but they offer recommendations for handymen, property managers and other services that seniors need.
